This quilt is the first in which I have experimented with silk. The stones in the wall are made from various vintage kimono silk scraps, some of which I have dyed. It is also the first in my new "Stones and Walls" series of art quilts. Visions of stones, walls, doors, windows, and moss had me looking at any stone wall or building to see their details. This piece depicts an old, mossy wall of a building with a Wisteria vine climbing on it. The mossy look was achieved through use of tulle, pastels, and shredded silk batting dyed a mossy green.
Reproductions and note cards are availible.
