20"x23½" - ©2006/07 -
This quilt uses more of my sunprints of maple leaves. The prints were all from one fat quarter of my sunprinted fabric, that was fused to batting, backed, then cut apart into random sizes. The prints were then accented by other fused quilt sandwiches that were made by fusing scraps of tone on tone ivory fabrics and scraps of my own painted fabrics. The sandwiches were then butted and satin stitched together. The maple leaf veins were added with pastel rubbings, as in "Blue Maple Leaves", before being fused to the batting. The border fabric was painted and textured with sea salt. The free motion quilting is done in the leaves, to accent the veins, an ivy vine design is quilted over the crazy patched areas, and the border is quilted with a vine design all around.
Reproductions and note cards are availible.
